2. Description of Service

InsightSync.ai provides an AI-powered research analysis platform that includes:

Research paper upload and analysis
AI-powered summarization
Research gap and hypothesis discovery
Trend analysis and visualization
AI research assistant
Citation and reference management

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

4.1 Billing

Certain aspects of the Service may be provided for a fee. You will be required to select a payment plan and provide accurate billing information. By submitting such payment information, you automatically authorize us to charge all subscription fees incurred through your account.

4.2 Subscription Terms

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
  • Cancellation will be effective at the end of the current billing period.

4.3 Refund Policy

Payments are non-refundable except as required by law. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us within 30 days of the charge.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you upload to the Service, including research papers, documents, and other materials. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

5.2 Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload content that:

Infringes intellectual property rights
Contains malware or harmful code
Is illegal or promotes illegal activities
Violates privacy rights of others
Is fraudulent or deceptive
Violates any applicable laws

5.3 AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to generate summaries, ideas, and other content based on your inputs. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may not always be accurate and should be verified independently. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content.

5.4 Retrieved Third-Party Content

At your direction, the Service can retrieve publicly accessible research papers and metadata from third-party sources (such as arXiv, Crossref, and OpenAlex) into your personal library. Such content remains the property of its respective authors and publishers and may be subject to their own licenses and terms.

  • The Service retrieves copies only of papers made freely available by their source. For closed-access (paywalled) papers, the Service links to the publisher's site and does not retrieve, store, or circumvent access controls.
  • Retrieved copies are stored privately in your library for your personal research use and are not shared with other users of the Service.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of retrieved content — including any downloading, storage, or further distribution — complies with the applicable licenses, publisher terms, and copyright laws.

If you are a rights holder and believe content stored through the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@insightsync.ai and we will promptly review and, where substantiated, remove the stored copy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of InsightSync and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL INSIGHTSYNC, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • (i)Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
  • (ii)Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
  • (iii)Any content obtained from the Service; and
  • (iv)Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
